Alaturca Barcelona is the Turkish Music Band of Barcelona.
The lack of traditional Turkish music in Barcelona, made Güldeniz start the project with the residential musicians; Georgi Dimitrov and Yannis Papaiaoannou, aiming to connect both sides of the Mediterranean sea while mixing the party energy of Barcelona with the oriental taste of Istanbul. After, Savvas Salpistis, Semih Ali Aksoy and Marta Kurzyca joined the project.
In a short time, with the support of the lovely audience, the band has been having performances at the important performance halls of Barcelona since December 2016. They present some Ottoman, classical, folk and gypsy songs with different rhythmic and modal music structures in the repertoire with traditional Turkish instruments.
